Hi and welcome to The Rainy Wonderland Blog!

This review is particularly exciting for me as it’s on one of the most hyped about makeup product – Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Powder (in Diffused Light). Almost all makeup gurus would have this on their vanity table, it’s something that I’ve thought about for a loooong time before finally taking the plunge!

So lets dive into the review!

The Ambient Lighting Powders are a wardrobe of universally flattering shades that recreate soft focus effects, emulating the most beautiful lighting sources. Each powder captures, diffuses and softens the way light reflects on the skin. It brightens the skin’s appearance whilst blurring imperfections, pores and wrinkles. The ground-breaking Photoluminescent Technology transforms complexion, mimicking the appearance your skin in its perfect light for a flawless finish. Suitable for all skin types.

TINNIE’S VERDICT

Packaging: Beautiful! The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it has an expensive feel to it and is also very sturdy. It comes with a mirror making it easy for touch ups on the go!

Formula: The formula is finely milled, it’s not overly powdery and in fact feels rather smooth and silky to the touch. However, be careful not to use too much as it can look cakey on the skin if not careful and instead of blurring out your imperfections it may just emphasise it.

Glow-effect: Natural. It gives you a very natural ambient kinda glow, there’s no chunky glitter, this making the look super natural.

LongevityThe Ambient Finishing Powder is great for that youthful glow, however It does not help keep your makeup on for all that long. At best it might help keep your makeup in place for ~ 3 hours.

Shades: The Ambient Finishing Powder is available in six shades, so you’ll be sure to find one that compliment your skin tone! I found the Diffused Light to be particularly flattering for my yellow-toned skin.

Price: High. At $67 AUD for 10g worth of product it ain’t cheap. However, it seems to last a while and you’re really paying for what you get.

Repurchase: Yes! I love how this powder makes my face look so much more awake and youthful! No more dull skin for me!

Overall, this is a pricey powder however it does a great job at brightening your complexion and giving you that youthful looking glow. You don’t need very much to achieve the desirable effect so a little goes a long way, it’s definitely an investment worth making! So be sure to try it out!

And that’s it folks!

Thank you for visiting and until next time…

Stay curious!

Tinnie
